Re: Watching TV at daycare, what do you think?

I would be livid that my child is in a University lounge (accessible to strangers) as opposed to their dedicated daycare facility.
That was my first thought also! Especially if a teacher is busy on her phone, how ridiculous!
Not loving the TV, but if it's a rare treat, that's okay.

Re: Watching TV at daycare, what do you think?
My DS goes to a large daycare / preschool. The only time they have the TV on (that I am aware of!) is at the end of the day for pick up time - from about 5-6pm. They will put on the TV and the kids settle down as the parents come in and out to pick them up. In the 2 year old classroom they always had on Sesame, Barney etc. In the 3 & 4 year old where he is now, they watch Disney Jr or a movie, such as Wall-E. I'm fine with it....

The TV doesn't bother me as much as the cell phone. But the combination of the two is no good.

I'm not anti TV - my kids watch plenty.
But I'll be damned if I'm spending $2500 a month for 3x a week for you to sit my kid in front of the TV. NO WAY !!!
Agreed!

This and the teacher being on her phone would upset me more than the TV watching.
I was a teacher in a daycare center once. A teacher was playing around her phone while the kids were supposed to be napping. One of the kids wound up being awake, picked something up off the floor, and decided to put it in his ear.
If it were me,I would call OCFS and just give them a head's up.

Re: Watching TV at daycare, what do you think?
our daycare doesnt have a TV anywhere in the facility. I think that would be a turn off for me. They can watch TV at home.
and I'd be pissed with a daycare that costs that much not engaging my kid better.
