If your LO was in a wedding...
My 3.5 yr old and 1 yr old (he'll be 21 months at the wedding) are in my SIL's wedding in April. It's a late night wedding, which I'm used to and like, but my boys are early sleepers. No biggie... Figured all the people and stimulation will keep them up. Plus, some snacks and milk. Lol
Anyway.... Tell me the good, bad and some advise. We are in nj nd the wedding is on LI close to my IL's house. My 3 yr old doesn't like too much change. Not sure how he'll like wearing a tux. My 1 yr old is a monster and can't sit still. DH ans I are in the wedding as well. I'm the MOH so will be so busy that day. DH will be with the boys. I pla. On having them relax and play at my IL's the day. We'll come early. I'll try and nap the 1 yr old and maybe put on a movie to relax or nap my 3.5 yr old (he doesn't nap anymore). DH and myself will get them dressed. I'm sure I'll be in ans out getting ready with the bride and my mil. We are doing the pics before the wedding. I'll bring some toys and electronics, but not sure how my 1 yr old will sit ans hoping and praying they go down the aisle. They are kids too so we are ready for whatever. My parents re invited and will have a spot in the front to sit with the boys and after my DH will ake them to my IL's where there is a babysitter to put them to bed and stay there. Just worried about the 1 yr old and some other stuff. I know it'll be stressful keeping them occupied and keep them from turning into a tantrum. They're good boys, but toddles so when it's late and a long day of smiling.... You never know. Anyway... Give me your experience and advise. Thanks!

Re: If your LO was in a wedding...
My advice is if you can be with them before (which sounds like you will) the ceremony do it! My twins were 18 months at my brothers wedding and I was in it also. I had to leave at 7 am to get ready (as per SIL). My sitter got them ready and brought them to the church and they were doing great. When I got to the church they were excited to see me (i think it was like 2 pm) and when it was DH and I's turn to walk down the aisle they started to scream and chased us down the aisle. Looking back it was funny but at the time I was mortified.
I had a plan for my sitter to take them from me in the front row but since there is 2 of them I should have had asked someone else to help her. So if there is someone you can have "on call" at the church to take them to the back if they get antsy or upset that would be best. Someone that won't be that upset if they miss part of the ceremony, so maybe not your parents.
Also have someone on standby when you are taking pics in case they are not willing to take them. This way you can still be in them.
Good luck!

Re: If your LO was in a wedding...
I was a BM in my Brother-in-laws wedding, my DH was the best man, my DD was the "flower girl" she was 10 months old. Yea, it was a tiring day, but we had family taking turns watching her and playing with her. We would hang out in the bridal suite so she can escape the loud music and we tried to put her to sleep but was not working, she was too stimulated. You really cant predict the day because you never know. Just be prepared with all there stuff like toys, food, drinks etc...maybe staying on LI that night will make it easier for you all. Good Luck it will be fine!

My son was a little over 2 when he was in my best friends wedding...he was okay for most of it. He refused to sit during the speeches and during the church so my husband was outside with him most of the time. I had my inlaws pick him up around 9 from the reception which wad about a 30 min drive tor them so he could go to bed
