What are they like? I'm afraid to go and be the only one lol!

I have been to a few - you will not be the only one. You would be lucky if you were though - you would get lots of help and support from the leaders. Be warned - everyone feeds very freely during the meeting!
ETA - most meetings I have been to have like 15 people.

I went once when DD was about 5 months. I would go back but they never seem to be at a good time for me. I did enjoy the meeting we went to. It's always nice to get out and chat with other moms. I went to the one at patchogue-medford library. Not sure if that's where you're looking to go but I know they meet tomorrow. The leader is so nice and actually does a lot of the library classes we go to also. I would definitely give it a try. You can bring a grandparent if you need help being that you have two. We just sit on the floor with a blanket and toys for the babies and these little floor seats that are pretty comfy and talk about how we're doing, share ideas about nursing/parenting/just whatever.

has anyone been to a la leche meeting?
When I went there were maybe 4 or 5 moms. Some were open about nursing and some used covers and some didn't feed their babies during the meeting at all.
