Anyone been to a La Leche meeting?
I was just reading their website (I'm looking for an LC) and they said their meetings are open to mamas-to-be who want to learn more about BF-ing. Has anyone ever been?

I haven't been yet, but from what I have read if you go to one meeting and you don't necessairuly like the way its run don't give up and try another one!
My MIL was very involved with them when DH was a baby and she said they were a wonderful source of support.
I will pobably start looking into meetings in my area in the next moth or so

I went to one. They are a little weird. I think LaLeche people have VERY strong feelings about BFing. They are a great resource though, but just be prepared for their passion on the subject. I would def try a meeting though.

Yes, they're SUPER passionate about bfing. Not a bad thing, but if you're on the fence, or even contemplating for a second, "what if it doesn't work?" or something like that...be prepared for the wrath.  You could like them alot, but just in case does you dr's office or hospital offer a bfing class that you could also check out?

THANK YOU!! Very good to know -- I think I will watch my Laugh and Learn breastfeeding DVD first and then see where I'm at. I want to BF but I don't think I am "passionate" about it
