How do I wean from Breast?
My first son, I breastfed for 14 months. I stopped pretty much cold turkey. He was drinking from a sippy cup and likle milk.
Ds 2 is 12 months. He is not having the milk or sippy cup. How do I wean him of of my boob?? He literally beats me up and throws a fit if I deny him.
thanks

Re: How do I wean from Breast?
We had to keep busy and out of the house during day time nursing sessions. I cut out a session at a time, only eliminating one per week. We were at 4 sessions when I wanted to wean. The two day sessions were replaced by snacks when we were out. I offered milk in a cup, but she refused. She still pretty much hates milk, she'll drink it here and there, but not regularly. The morning session was our snuggle session and it was hard to give up, we couldn't snuggle together in the am for about 2 months. We'd get up right away and have breakfast and I'd just keep her entertained. The evening session was another hard one, but I had my husband do the night time routine without me and she seemed ok with that. We never did a nurse to sleep so I think that helped. My best advice is GO SLOW.

Re: How do I wean from Breast?
It's not easy. I'm trying to do wean my 15 month old. It's been a slow process. I try to cut a feeding, but she does nurse to slew, so I'm down to 2-3 sessions now. Morning, sometimes before afternoon nap, and at night before bed. Not easy. She doesn't really like milk. She will drink it a little but not much.
