New mommy question...
Hi ladies! I'm new to the parenting board. I just had DS on New Year's Day. This is our first baby. DS has his first pediatrician appointment tomorrow and I have a question about the diaper bag. This is the first time he will be out of the house. We are using powder formula. Do I just put a the whole container of formula in the bag with a bottled water and empty bottle? Would it be okay if I measured the formula out in the bottle? I know it's just a diaper bag but I rather be prepared than under prepared. Obviously, I'll put wipes, diapers, and other needed items in there as well.
Thank you!

New mommy question...
I used to put really hot water in the bottle and seperate the formula in those little travel containers, then when i needed a bottle I could just pour formula in, shake and serve. I would normally bring three bottles depending how long I will be out. Change of clothes just incase and a binky.

Re: New mommy question...
When DS was still on formula I had these little containers that held the formula. They were round divided into 4 compartments with a cover and a little whole at the top. Just put however many scoops of formula in one compartment. I would fill the bottle up with water and when it was time to eat just poured the powder into the bottle, close it up and shake. Much easier then carrying around a whole container of formula. They sell at most baby stores.

Ask your ped about bottled water - mine still said it should be boiled. Like others have said, they make containers to pre-measure the formula. I would fill the bottle with water and add the formula when it is time. They make the stoppers for the bottles so they won't leak. Good luck!

New mommy question...
I usually bring a bottle of water - I have had a few issues with leaking so I just prefer doing it that way.
As for formula - if you are using Enfamil - they also offer the formula in pre-measured 4oz packets. I have the separator as well but, for going on short trips, I prefer grabbing a couple of packets.

Just going to the Dr - I'd pre make a bottle. Unless they are getting shots (and the only one would be Hep B is they didnt get it in the hospital) you don't need formula.
I would feed a bit before I left and feed when I got home.

This.. I always kept a few of those packs as backup but did the container for planned trips. So if my trip should carry 3 bottles I'd carry 3 servings but keep two or three backup packs, just in case.
