Complaining to dr.
Would you complain to your doctor if you didn't like something? As I've posted the past few days, DD was extremely sick. We went to our ped and they kinda blew her off, saying it was just a cold. Couple of hours later, she was diagnosed with the flu, pink eye, and bad pneumonia... Just found out our insurance was cancelled and I'll have to pay out of pocket for that visit. I was already mad enough that they kinda disregarded her, but now I'm mad that I'm going to have to pay for that visit when they barely did anything... I never complain about anything, but this kinda bothered me, as it's the second time it happened. Thank you for your input!

Complaining to dr.
I few hours later she was diagnosed?!?! For SURE I would be complaining!!! A) the lack of care b) the unnecessary suffering of your DD (what if you took their word for it and didn't go to get a 2nd opinion!!) And c) the $ that they are going to expect you to pay for their misdiagnosis and disregard to her illness.
I hope your DD is back on track and starting to feel better soon!! Is also hope you get things straightened put with your insurance and get that back soon too!!

Re: Complaining to dr.
absolutely!!! when my girls were very little. my peds office told us to start solids at 4 months. We didnt know any better. Mind you they were born at 30 weeks, so they were not even 2 months old yet in development. We also went to a high rick clinic through the hospital every few months and the neo-natologists were outraged! I made sure to tell the what happened. also a nurse there told us that bc they were 6 months old we should be doing CIO again they were only 4 months old. I made sure to gently remind her that the specialists adjust their age and she should as well.

I would go down there and complain...that is pure BS! Was she diagnosed at another Dr's office/hospital or from her Ped?

Re: Complaining to dr.
I would complain solely based on the misdiagnosis. Then mention the ins and tell them they can accept your copayment and be happy they got that. I'm sure you could report them since it was a few hours later snd they brushed off.

Complaining to dr.
I would complain but as far as money I don't think I'd expect anything.

She was diagnosed with pneumonia, pink eye etc... a few hrs later from th same dr that said it was only a cold? I dont get it... If so, then I only see one co-pay. BUT, if the issue is abot you not having insurance then I do think you are responsible to pay for 1 whole visit, not 2.

ITA, they shouldn't make you pay for 2 visits if they misdiagnosed her earlier in the day.
My ped's office is really good about stuff like that, but its the billing that doesn't always go right. i would call up and speak to someone who does the billing and explain that you were there earlier in the day and that it should only be charged as one visit.
Also if you don't have insurance they may be able to adjust your bill also since they do usually over bill the insurance companies.

We ended up going to PM Pediatrics because she had over a 104 temperature a few hours after the visit to our normal dr. This isn't the dr. we normally see. I don't really care about having to pay out of pocket, I care more about the fact that they said it was post nasal drip, it just makes it worse that I have to pay lol Baby is finally feeling a little better, so it's ok! Thanks for everybody's input!!
