Re: December moms...
I'm a January Mom but I plan to get one. My shower is in a few weeks so I'm going to wait and see if I get one then; otherwise I'll go and buy one before LO comes

I'll (hopefully) be a November mom, but I bought this in pink:
lightweight pram
A thick snowsuit/bunting isn't recommended b/c it can interfere with the straps in the car seat. I'll only use this on really cold days; otherwise fleece feety pjs and a car seat cover will definitely keep the baby warm enough.

I saw that JJ Cole shower cap cover thing...are they safe? They look like the baby would suffocate in there! I was thinking of just using a JJ cole sleeping bag thing and a blanket.
This is so confusing!

The car seat cover is actually safer than the sleeping-bag style. The baby won't suffocate. There's a pretty sizable opening for their face/neck, and it won't interfere with the straps. Things like Bundle Me's aren't recommended - read your car seat manual and it'll tell you not to use anything that didn't come with it.

Re: December moms...
I got a snowsuit looking thing from Old Navy. They are really affordable.
I figure it will be good to take the baby for walks also. I can't be trapped in my house for 3 months, I will go crazy.

I had 2 of them and never used them. Last winter was warm so it wasn't really needed.

Re: December moms...
My oldest is a December baby. I had a light bunting that I barely used. I had an over the car seat cover, which kept DS warm enough. He got so sweaty whenever I used the bunting so I stopped putting him in it. On really cold or windy days, I just used an extra blanet.

This and I plan on bringing them home in it over a cotton caters outfit. I bought blue

Re: December moms...
I got a thinner bunting from Little Me (the thicker ones cause you to have to slightly loosen the car seat straps, which is really unsafe, so the thinner the better), and then the shower cap Bundle Me (not sure if I'll use it right away, depends on how it fits around the LO). And then just lots of blankets and a hat. The regular Bundle Me's are not safe for a car seat b/c it also requires the straps to be slightly looser than they were if you didn't use it.
