I'm going to head out tomorrow morning to get a few things. Mainly enough diapers, wipes, snacks and non perishable foods that don't need to be cooked because I have an electric stove. Maybe a gallon or two of water and some milk boxes for DS.

Re: Is anyone else preparing for Sandy?

i realized this morning i have no working flashlights so i am going to go out later and get some batteries and a case of water and some juice boxes. otherwise we are ok, i have enough other non perishables i think.

after irene i had a cooler in my kitchen with milk, cheese sticks, juice and a few other things. it was a life saver with no power for days. i will watch the weather the next few days and if it looks like we will be hit i will have DH get ice sunday and keep it in the basement freezer

I got a few things I'll use anyway like batteries, Cheerios, and some Gerber shelf-stable yogurts.
If it gets closer I might get some shelf stable milk too.

Re: Is anyone else preparing for Sandy?

We have plenty of formula for DD, and if I'm unable to boil water for her due to a power outage, I have plenty of Poland Spring to use in a pinch. So, she's set.

As for me and DH, I was already planning on doing major grocery shopping this weekend, as we are in need of lots of stuff. Now I'm just going to have contend with lots of annoying crowds.

We need to check our flashlights. We have a huge emergency one that stays in the trunk of my car...but my nephew wanted to borrow it, and now it's with him on Staten Island...fabulous!
