Those with more then one child Question

Do you bring them to your dr visit now that you are pregant? My in laws are leaving the end of the month and DH works late hours. I will have to start brining her to my Dr appts. She is 3 I've seen plenty of other kids at the dr office with her moms just wondering how do you keep them busy?

I have an 18 month old. I usually keep her in the stroller and bring snacks/toys. I can usually keep her entertained in a pinch with my cell phone so I bring that if I'm having a sono.

I've brought dd to both my Ultrasounds. I try to plan them around her nap time so she sleeps in her stroller but she was awake screaming today . Oh well there were about 4 other children there as well. Hth

I take Emerson with me to all of my appts. She either just sits and listens to the doctor and I talk Chat Icon or she reads a book/magazine from the waiting room. Chat Icon

Re: Those with more then one child Question

We took DD to my first few appts. The sono machine and doppler scared her, and I felt bad for the nurse that had to draw my blood. In the past month, my parents have been meeting me and keeping an eye on DD in the waiting room. I have to go solo tomorrow, and I'm bribing her with an endless bag of snacks and toys!

For some reason dd gets really, I mean really hyper in the office. And that's with my dh with us. Haha. She just won't sit still. With the iPad or phone or book anything. And she's so loud. Haha. They told me its ok. It it's hard.

Right now I have dh go into work late. Not ideal. It I make the first or last appt. I walk there and his office is right there. So he leaves a few mins after me a d we meet and dd and I walk home and he goes to work.

I have a sono next week. There's no way I can bring her. I want dh to come. It's the 20 week but I'm not sure I can a sitter. I feel and b/c he's not involved in all this like with dd but there's not much I can do.

If I have to I will bring her. But I'd rather not.

Re: Those with more then one child Question

i took my dd#1 to virtually all doctor visits obgyn and otherwise when i was pregnant with my dd#2....it was super tough because she was at an age that she was afraid of doctors and would cry the whole time and hit the doctor's hand away from me and yell no when he/she would go to touch me....i would bring coloring books, snacks, small toys etc etc....and of course she would be put into the stroller until she would flip and then i would have to lay there with her on the table with me to get her to stop crying but she would still try hitting the doctors hand away from me but my doctors would usually laugh and make light of it and joke with her which would calm her down....should be interesting now pregnant with #3....im trying to make certain appts for when my 4yr old is in school but most likely they will both have to come to most appts...going to be veryyyy interestingChat Icon

I have brought my twins with DH a few times and alone once (they were about 19 months). I kept them in the stroller with snacks/books/toys. It wouldn't be my first choice but it is doable. If she is 3 I think you will be fine.
