Nt scan.... UPDATED - no great news....
NT scans are nothing definite...they are ranges and guesses based on a formula...you age can skew it tremendously...we were told my baby would have a chace of DS and were pushing us for a CVS and Amnio...both of which I refused at the time...we did go to see a Genetic Consulor etc. and by the Level II everything looked great and measured ok.
(BTW, I did have an amnio at 36 weeks bc I delivered at 36w1d and it WAS NOTHING compared to what i expected...didnt hurt, just crampy that night.)
Dont stress out too much, that isnt good for you or the baby....pray and wait for more accurate tests/results. Im sorry your going through this but MANY girls I know have a NT scan and when their second blook panel comes back at their 16week it usually looks ok...
good luck!!!!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Unfortunately this came back in my bloodwork, so it's apparently who I am. I just never thought is have a premutated gene. It's such a difficult thing to accept.

Going this afternoon. Can anyone tell me what to expect. Do they do it intervaginally or on the outside. Sorry for a silly question. I'm just excited/nervous!
UPDATE:
So I went for the scan - it look awhile for LO to cooperate. Everything looks ok there, however, they said they need to wait for the blood results to be definite.
While I was there, I asked about my urine sample - had protein in my urine - had to pee in a bucket for a day - everything turned out fine.
My doctor came in to talk about the OB panel - everything came back except 1. She told me that I have a premutation for Fragile X. I'm not exactly sure what it is - however, there's a chance that my child could have mental retardation. I'm devistated - I knew everything so far in this pregnancy was too easy.
If you have a PREMUTATION, there's no chance for your kids to have mr. But most likely they will be carriers which means your GRANDCHILDREN can have a chance to have mr. I have a premutation. My kids are also carriers but they don;t have MR, however my grandkids are also at risk. You only have mr if your number is 200 or above. Most likely your baby will only be a carrier as well. If you want to talk more about this feel free to FM me. There are other implications with it I can tel you about. Don't worry! ;)

Re: Nt scan.... UPDATED - no great news....
Do a search for my name and fragike x. I had the same issue with my 2nd DS. I went you genetic counseling...turns out no one with my # has ever given birth to a child with fragile x. I listed the # in my post.
Issue with fragile x testing is alot of obs aren't really familiar with it, as its a newer test being done. So they tell you about this mutation, you get freaked but they don't know much about it so you have to wait for the gc.
For me it turned out I was just a few pts over norm. FM me if you can't find my post, I have a letter with all the details of my experience from the counselor I can grab that has alot of the # info.
Try not to worry!
Eta...her it isfragile x
