Yessssss.

How far along are you? In my 2nd tri I had numb hands after sleeping. Now in my 3rd tri it's more arthritic. I wake up in pain and am unable to bend my fingers.

OB said its normal from the water retention and pressure on your joints!

Carpal Tunnel! I had it with DD#1 and it was torture for months. You can try the braces they sell at a drug store but they don't help a whole lot. Drink lots of water and stay away from salt which can make you retain water. There is nothing much you can do otherwise. I have it again with #2 but no where as bad as with my first. Feel better!

Anyone having issues with their hands or wrists ??

I wore the braces at night every night my first pregnancy and they really did help. My OB scared me into it, saying if I didn't try to keep it at bay while pregnant, it might not go away after. He said if night wear didn't work, I'd have to wear them all day. Make sure you're not sleeping with your arms under you. I haven't had it nearly as bad my second pregnancy as I did my first. No idea why it sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't.

I got this in both wrists and thumbs a week before I delivered. I was diagnosed with Dequervain "mommy thumb" syndrome. I've tried anti inflammatory which didn't work. I've gotten two cortisone shots in the right wrist and one in the left. The left is bothering me again and I have a feeling the right will start up again. My only option will be surgery. It completely sucks and is so painful.

Crashing from the parenting board, but I had this when I was pregnant with my DD. It was sooooo bad. Carpal tunnel is common during pregnancy. As soon as I had my daughter, the pain went away. It hurt so much though!!

Anyone having issues with their hands or wrists ??

It is Carpul Tunnel and not much you can do. Wrist Guards and ice. If it doen not go away after pregnancy you can have surgery.

It is common in PG woman.

Anyone having issues with their hands or wrists ??

It is Carpal Tunnel....I got this when I was 17 weeks pregnant with my son...for the first few weeks Id sleep on the couch with my arms raised on pillows with ice packs on them to reduce the swelling, dont use the computer much and try not to text... my arms and hands would go numb by 10pm and would be numb and dead for about an hour after I woke up...(which was terrible when your nursing BTW)

Needless to say, you CAN get a cortizone shot in your wrists which HELPS A LITTLE BIT, but ANY RELIEF is better than none. I found the braces did NOTHING for me and it was a waste of money...it didnt ever really go away but got tollerable about 4 months after the baby was born...

Im just starting to get it again now and im 16 weeks...Im making an appointment to get the shots...and will ice and elevate, relax and not lift, not use computer much and stop texting much in hopes to prevent it from getting worse. IT SUCKS and mine hurst so badly that I was miserable...

Good Luck hope you feel better soon.
BTW, Dr. Glen Teplitz has an office in Garden City and East Meadow he is the Dr. I use and is great... the shots are SAFE during pregnancy but you cant get more than 3...

Yes, unfortunately it did. And literally, right after I had her, the pain in my hands was gone.
