Question re: car extras
So post about the car seat covers and the shade one got me thinking....
I know they say not to add things because in an accident they cold fly through the air and hurt the child. But if anyones car looks like mine couldn't all the spare change, extra pair of shoes etc all do the same thing? Am I really supposed to clean out my car and drive with nothing that could come loose in an accident?

Re: Question re: car extras
what about the stroller in the back of the SUV? Where am I supposed to put that? Or does that not count?

Question re: car extras
ITA. I try to keep possible projectiles to a minimum, but its nearly impossible with a teen who "forgets" to take things out, an almost 2 year old who insists on bringing almost every toy he has into the car, and then there's me who never seems to have enough hands!!

Re: Question re: car extras
Speaking solely on how we do things... there is no loose ANYTHING in the backseat with her. At most, if we are both in the car with her (which is rare) we will have the diaper bag on the floor of the backseat behind the driver. We both drive small suv's that have the hard cover that comes down over the cargo area when you close the trunk.
With regard to having a stroller in the trunk - honestly, if you're in an accident that's bad enough to make a stroller go flying into the back seat... I think the stroller is probably least of the worries. An accident that might make a sunshade fall off that's on a window right next to the carseat is likely much less serious than one that would make a stroller go flying, KWIM?
eta: as a cop, my husband is super paranoid. as a paranoid person in general, i'm also super paranoid. i don't think most people are this anal about loose stuff in the car

ITA. I try, but have a stroller and travel booster seat in my SUV trunk most of the time. DD will not leave the house without at least two of her Sesame Street buddies. They're all plush toys, but still.
