when does leaving them get easier?
i am so sad i dont even know how to deal with it, and i am looking for some words of wisdom. im a teacher who just went back full time this week. my daughter is 14 m. i feel so incredibly sad and guilty that im not the one to read to her, play with her, wake her from her nap and be with her all day. how will i ever get over the emptiness in my chest when i leave her every day? ive heard people say two weeks..is that true? i know she is well looked after (shes with my parents) but the sadness and guilt is overwhelming.
thanks for reading. just needed to get that out i guess.

Re: when does leaving them get easier?
I still cry after summer break when I leave DS and he is four now. I try to focus on al the wonderful things I can provide him with because I am working and also that it's not tragic- know what I mean? Many people have such difficulties in their lives and I am blessed. Try to focus on the positive aspects of your life.

Re: when does leaving them get easier?
I just started leaving my DD shes 3 months and its terrible. Its part time but I get bad anxiety around 2pm. I think its harder on us. Shes all smiles leaving me with the care takers and then the best part is when I pick her up and shes smiling right back at me. Unfortunetly we need my salary and thats just the way it has to be. It kills me though. Hugs to you.

My kids are 2.5 and 3.5 (a little older) and it still isn't easy to leave them. While I do think they benefit from preschool now, I hate that I have to leave them for a full day 5 days per week. I'm hoping it will be easier when they are in kindergarten, but then I will wish I could be the one picking them up at the end of the school day.

I don't think it will ever be easy but it definitely has gotten better for me. I've only been back 3 months but the whole first month was absolute torture. One I broke the one month point I feel like its definitely gotten easier.

It does stink... But 1 month gets you out of the depression. Oh, it's harder to leave them as they get older.
