Looks like I may be an August mommy.

i had pre-e and delivered at 33w. my BP was ok or borderline, never ever as high as yours, but i had swelling and a TON of protein (in the 24 hour collection i had over 1200, they want to see under 300). i thought i would make it til delivery on hospital bedrest but i only made it 5 days before pre-e turned into full blown HELLP syndrome and my liver was shutting down and my platelets became non-existent. it is good they are monitoring you closely because things can literally change in the blink of an eye. have they done a growth sono and given you the steroid shots? although my DD was tiny (3lbs8oz) she was born breathing on her own and needed very little help in the NICU. we were there for almost a month, mostly to gain weight and maintain body temp. you are very close to full term so assuming the baby is ~5lbs or more, you shouldn't have too many issues if they have to deliver early. what hospital are you in?

def relax as much as you can. when they first put me on bedrest in the hospital they had to pry my work laptop out of my hands. i had no idea of the severity of the situation and i honestly thought i would make it to 36 weeks no problem. i felt fine. but things can change quickly so just try to take it easy. whatever will happen will happen and there is little you can do at this point to change it other than just relaxing as much as possible. please FM if you want to chat!!! Re: Looks like I may be an August mommy.

I remember you saying the baby is big too and I am due Sept 18th and I am full term today, your only 2 days behind me. I dont know why they wouldnt take the baby now if your blood pressure was that high. I had preeclampsia with #1 and my blood pressure got to 210/170 and was induced early. If that was me i would WANT them to take the baby now.

Good Luck!

Thank you for sharing! They aren't concerned about size as her sono this morning showed her measuring 10lb 2oz. I am maintaining BP between 135-145/70-80 over the past 24 hours, so all is going well. They did warn me it can change quickly. Right now we are both stable, so just being monitored. Every day is a gift that gets her stronger. My husband is bringing my laptop today so I can print out certain things for clients. That's all I need to do.

I get nervous about going early because my son was born at over 11lbs at 38 weeks and went into the NICU. So, to me, size doesn't matter.

My BP has normalized. But over the past two weeks I have spiked too often. That's why they are just trying to relax me and go day by day. Each day she gets stronger. Size doesn't necessarily mean baby is ready to come out. My son was over 11lbs and he still went into NICU at 38 weeks.

Re: Looks like I may be an August mommy.

I just wanted to say I was thinking of you. I had preeclampsia with my son and was on bed rest for most of my third trimester. Drink tons of water and stay on your left side. Good luck!

hang in there..... you just need to get to 37weeks for fully cooked..... plus they could give you the shot to develop the lungs if its before 36 weeks
