I have lived in my new house for almost a year. DH and I agree that if we can make a lot of money, we will sell and buy a bigger house in about 10 years.

We are in our starter home, but hopefully not for much longer (we own a 2-family with SIL). We won't be in our forever home until DH retires and we move to Florida. My parents want to give us their house (my childhood home) as an early inheritance.

No, we are actually selling it now (closing tuesday!) and moving in with my in-laws until we can find a great house! A new house probably still won't be a forever home though b/c I can't see us living in FL forever.. Chat Icon

We bought a small, affordable place with plenty of property and an attic and basement that are just asking to be converted to living space. Maybe at some point we will outgrow this place or develop a wandering eye, but I'm not making any plans.

This could be our Forever home, but I really hope it's just our starter home. There are so many things I have learned from living here that I want in a house that this one doesn't have. We bought the house thinking we would live here for 5-7 years, but with the market the way it is, it will def be longer.

wow, amazed at all of the forever homes.

We're in an apartment. Had we made different choices (scaled back wedding, less travel), we could be buying a house, but right now I am happy with the flexibility of an apartment

We bought this and I knew it wasn't my forever home and DH thought it was his. We had kids much much MUCH quicker then we planned and we are at full capacity with 2 kids. We would like 2 more in the next 4-5 years. It's not the size that's the issue, but the layout. With the markets the way they are and not wanting to move from this area it may become our forever home after some renovations. It has the space to be what we want, and honestly the thought of moving makes me feel sick. I HATE moving. I don't know. It'll be at least 2-4 years before we make a decision.

we are a messChat Icon

we bought, now we are selling...it is vacant and 5 hours away.

currently renting a house...but we might have to move in Nov when lease is up due to school district rezoning.

i really don't think we will ever have a forever house...we just transferred in dec.
there is no way we can stay here so we can't wait for next transfer to do it all over again.

a forever home...... unless we win the lotto or get a large inheritance.

bought it before kids, but its our second home... the first was a 2 bedroom that we ended up deciding to move instead of expand it.

It could be a forever home....but I don't think we'll be here forever. We bought it right when I found out I was pregnant, so not really before kids...but kind of.
We bought a co-op when we first got married and then sold it, and bought this house. I really like it....but I don't know if it's the house we're meant to grow old in....

When we bought, we did not intend this to be our forever home, but it may be. We bought at the height of the market, and have put a bunch of $$ in to it to make it our own, and I can't see getting it all back. That said, I am fine if this is our forever home. It's in a good area, and even though it is on the small side, the people who lived here before us raised 4 kids in it, so I'm sure it will be possible for us to fit 2!

We bought it before kids, and owned 2 co-ops before it.

We bought our home as a starter home, but with the amount of work we are putting into it, it may become our forever home. It's also DH's childhood home so I know it is going to be a battle to get him to sell even though that was the original plan.

We will have the house forever but not live in it forever. Starter multi family house that we will rent out once we eventually find/move to our forever home.
That won't be for awhile though.
