Going thru airport security
We're flying for the first time with DS (will be 23 months) in August and was wondering how security works with a toddler. Does he walk through the x-ray machine, do we carry him through, or push him through in the stroller? Or does he get patted down? Not too keen on some stranger touching my kid, but is it safe for him to go thru the machine?

Re: Going thru airport security
I just flew this past week with my 16 month old daughter. At LGA, I walked through the regular metal detector that everyone else was walking through while holding her. Kids under 12 do not have to take off their shoes. In Charlotte, everyone was going through the new machines where you have to put your hands over your head but they had me walk through the regular one, again holding DD. You will not be able to push the stroller through security - you will have to put it through the xray machine. Have a nice trip!

Re: Going thru airport security
I flew a few weeks ago with DS/
We had him in the stroller up until we got to security, we then folded the stroller and put it on the x-ray machine with our other bags and I held DS while we went through the scanner together.
No one touched us
Kids also don't need to remove shoes so that was easier.
