I stayed in gown the 1st day & then wore cheap pjs I got from mc Penney. One was a gown by Nicole miller for jcp that looked like a maxi dress( I don't usually wear a nightgown but I was having a c section & didn't know if I could tolerate pants). Also bought/wore a cheap pair of pjs (shirt & pants) that buttoned in front or easy nursing. If u r gonna buy new & not dude if u will wear them, keep the tags on so u can return! GL!

I used the hospital gown on day 1 - everything is a mess that day.....
Day 2 I had a nursing tank top and pj bottoms.

i was at the hospital from monday to saturday 
the first few nights i slept in the gown since you are a bleeding mess, the hospital had me sleeping on wee wee pads, talk about mortifying lol.
after that i slept in pj pants and nursing cami's

I had a vag delivery the 1st time and a section the 2nd. Both times i packed the same things.....Big sweatpants from the mens section, nursing tanks, an open cardigan from ON, a robe, and 2 nursing pj sets. I also packed a bottle of peroxide. I used there mesh undies and pads(LOVED LOVED LOVED them). The peroxide was nice because with my 2nd(section) I didn't start bleeding right away, but when I got up on day 2 to us ethe potty I gushed Sorry tmi. I was able to soak my robe and sweatpants in peroxide right away and the stains were gone right away. Go for gowns or high sweats, nursing tanks, open cardigans, and large neck shirts. When I got home my favourite shirts to wear were old man button ups from Good Will They cost $2 each. I suggest Target because, well I love Target

Ditto, I had an unplanned c I barely touched my hospital bag
Same here. I stayed in the gowns for the entire time I was there.

Vaginal delivery here and I was in their gown the 1st night b/c I delivered at almost 11pm and couldn't move to change...so tired. I bled like a PIG and still wanted out of the hospital gown...couldn't imagine staying in that open back thing the entire time.
I brought a big oversized night shirt from Walmart...I put that on first and was comfy in that. Then after I showered i was in sweats and a maternity t-shirt during the day...at night I slept in big size pj's...really loose bottoms and a t-shirt.
If you are NOT nursing...pack some sports bras...they are more comfy than regular bras for the hospital and you need to get a bra on immedialtely to stop the milk...the tighter the bra the better! and pack nursing pads b/c you will most likely leak....although I didn't leak til I got home. This time I'm leaking already - started at around 30 weeks prego!

What to sleep in at hospital?
The gowns they had at my hospital weren't open-backed. They were actually really nice, soft, and super convenient. I stayed it the gowns (even after showering twice -- they gave me clean ones to change into) the two days I was there and only changed into very loose maternity PJs to come home. I really wasn't there very long.

With my first pregnancy, I stayed in a hospital gown. This time, I stayed in the hospital gown for the first 1.5 days. Then, I wore nursing tank tops and yoga pants. I brought some pj pants, but ended up sleeping in the yoga pants.

The first night I got up to the room at 11p so i stayed in the hospital gown. The second night i just packed loose pj pants

I'll probably sleep in the gown the first night like others did then bring my stretchy pants pjs I've been wearing. Then yoga pants for daytime.

The first day i wore the hospital gown. After that i wore a black nursing gown w no pants so i had easy access to feed and didnt have to worry about bleeding through my clothes.

Always PJ's. I'd rather ruin a pair of pajamas (although I never have)then stay in those gowns for one extra second. I hate them blach.

Honestly its a waste of money to get pjs for the hospital. I had a vag delivery and your a horribly bloody mess. Theres no point in taking the hospital gown off to destroy new pjs. IF you get anything I would say get a gown but again imho its a total waste of money. Now if your looking for something for home then I would suggedt motherhood maternity and target. I personally dont like nightgowns. I prefer pants or shorts with a cami. I got a bunch of cute nursing camis at tsrget chesp and wear my pre pregnancy shorts. I did buy 1 nursing set from motherhood that is super comfy and lived in them when i first got hone.
