Re: Anyone just feel defeated?

For me, I find simply unloading the dishwasher first thing instead of letting it languish all day and the sink piles up, helps me feel one step ahead all day.
same here w the dishwasher. just that one thing makes me feel better all day and when i get home to make dinner.
i feel so overwhelmed, i'm constantly trying to think of ways to rearrange the house to make our lives easier. i still have a list of things to get to, but the reorg i've done so far has helped.
one very important thing to me is lazy time w DH. i get chores done either in the morning when i've got a lot of energy, if i have the time - laundry, pick up the house, dishwasher...or in the hour after we put DS to sleep. if it doesn't get done at those times on a weeknight, it doesn't get done. DH and i make sure we have TV/talk/"special" time almost every night. i find that really helps, even if there is more laundry to do or the carpet needs vacuuming, it'll get done eventually. it's so important to have that time for us/me at night.

Anyone just feel defeated?
I feel like I'm burning the candle at both ends. I have 10 month old twins and work at home during their naps and after DH gets home. I'm just getting done now at 1am and they'll be up before 8am. And I work out of the house on Saturdays.
I couldn't love my boys more, they are the light of my life and I am so happy to be their mommy.
But ...
Some days ... like today ... I feel like I've lost "me"!

Re: Anyone just feel defeated?
Not until recently but I am 9 months pregnant which I think is why! Also, my husband has a severe injury right now and can't help with a lot. I have always been the "superwoman" type at school, work and home but it's getting old!!!! I refuse to hire a cleaning person because I took a pay cut to reduce my time at work and I would rather pay myself to clean. I hope to feel a little better after this pregnancy when at least I dont feel pain when trying to do it all!!

Re: Anyone just feel defeated?
I love this thread.....I need to unload, too.
My twins are 3.5 and I work full-time. My house hasn't been REALLY cleaned in forever. I have these custom wood blinds that are so dusty it's embarassing. Dusting the chair rails? Molding? Same thing. I was a neat freak before the I had the kids. Now, I basically clean the bathrooms and kitchen....vacuum the house....and tidy up. I just don't have the time and energy like I used to.
I have about 2 hrs with my boys during the week and that's it.....but on the weekends, they run us so ragged that at times, we look forward to going to work on Monday just to get a break. We are in NC with no family or friends so it's just the four of us....DH and I have days when we snap at each other because the kids are just kicking our azz. I, too, sometimes long for my single life when I just do whatever.....it sounds so friggin selfish to say that because I love them so. If I had to do it again, of course I would, BUT....I seriously had no idea how hard it would be. Rewarding most of the time, but dang, there are days when I just want to run away........

This is me but my twins are 8 months. My house is a mess. I can never just have people over. If someone wants to drop by I have to run around the house like a lunatic. I make sure my bathroom and kitchen are clean then just clean up the living room (TOY EXPLOSION ROOM lol)
I live in Middle Island and work in Manhattan and it is just too much some days. I leave at 5:45am and get home at 6:00pm. I feed the girls then play with them for a little bit then they are exhausted and go to bed. Some nights after they go to bed I just cry because I know I will not hold them again until 6 the next night. My DH does so much to help out. He gets them ready for the day, brings them to either a family members house or daycare depending on the day, then he picks them up after and brings them home. I wish I could do that just to get more time with them. Then the weekends come and we have plans with everyone and we run around.

Anyone just feel defeated?
Yes, all the time. It makes me so sad thinking that I can't excel in anything. My mind is mush.
