Holy expensive

Since I've switched to a specialist I now have to pay $50 per visit. In the last 3 days I've shelled out $150 and I haven't had an iui yet. I know this is just the beginning and I'm trying not to worry about the cost but it's stressful.

the cost def add up...I kept track of how much I was spending when I was doing IUI's and it was about $300-400 each time including the meds and my co-pays are $30 each visit.

Trust me, we spent A LOT of money on getting pg, but now it's all worth it b/c I have a baby in my belly!

Are IUIs covered for you? If so, you may only have to meet a deductible before the insurance kicks in. That helped us.

You should not have to pay a copay PLUS the IUI and related procedures. I paid copays for office visits, but for anything related to the IUI (blood tests, monitoring, sperm washing, the IUI procedure, etc) we paid OOP until I met my deductible and then I only had to pay 10%. Basically, since the IUI was covered, I only paid copays after I actually got pregnant since everything leading up to it was covered by insurance.

IVF was totally different and there I had to pay totally OOP.

Sorry I put it wrong. We only pay copays nothing OOP. But it'd still $50 a visit.

Still seems a little weird. My blood tests were only $20, which is less than a copay.

You probably only had to pay your co-insurance for the blood work.
