Does your LO like tummy time?

Mine doesn't either. He loves mirrors so I put one of the toy mirrors in front of him to distract him. Every week he's able to stay on his tummy a little bit longer, but he still doesn't really like it.

So how often do you try tummy time with him? How long does he stay before he gets fussy? DS only stays about a min. or so and I try it once a day.

Thanks. This is what I was afraid of. Ive read (and heard) so much how tummy time helps their muscles etc. so I got worried that DS wasnt enjoying it. Glad to hear that your DS is developing just fine without it Chat Icon

I do tummy time maybe once a day she stats for the most 5 minutes she'll stay longer if I'm on the floor looking at her but she's not a fan of it.

I make DS do tummy time several times a day. He hates it, but I'm trying to make him get used to it. I prop him on his boppy, over the arm of the couch, on various toys, ANYTHING.

My DD hated tummy time. She would start fussing the second I put her on her tummy. I tried several times a day but I just couldnt let her fuss for too long. However, she's always been strong and was sitting up by herself at 4 months.

I usually do it 3 to 4 times a day until he starts to really fuss. Sometimes it's 5 minutes, sometimes it's only 2. I figure a little bit is better than none at all.

Re: Does your LO like tummy time?

Gio will only do tummy time for a couple minutes at a time. I do it once or twice a day. I don't force it though. If he starts to whine or fuss I pick him up. He will however spend a good amount of time on his tummy on mine or DH's chest.

this! Do short periods of time and just before he gets upset roll him over. Gradually the time he is on his belly will increase. Start nowChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Does your LO like tummy time?

I started with 5 minutes at a time, then 10 and now my DS will stay for 30 minutes. The first 10 weeks he did tummy time in the morning and the evening. Now at 5 months he does 30 minutes in the morning and scattered in the afternoon. While he is sitting up independently already, he NEVER rolled. I was the one doing the most tummy time out of all my friends and their babies rolled at 3 months Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
Not sure how much it matters, but I did let him fuss for the entire time to get him used to it.

My DD use to HAAAAAATE it. We had to force it and even then we'd get like 2 minutes out of her.
