Does anyone know anythign about JFK parking?
Me and DH will going away for a week in July. The day we return we have to leave to go straight upstate. So for that reason we want the car at the airport.
I dont mind paying for long stay parking offered by the airport but I heard we will have to take a shuttle bus to the terminals. Is this true??
My parents are leave the day before we return to go upstate and have volunteered to drop the car of at the 24 hour less parking at JFK so we dont have to pay for parking, but my dad thinks this is also not close to the terminals and we would have to take a shuttle bus anyway. Is this true?? Also do you know if you are over by a few hours from 24 hour parking if they charge a lot of morning. Our filight gets in by 9:30 figure the earliest we get to the car is 11:00 my parents would drop the car of probably around 6 or 7is the morning before.
If it matter we are taking Jet blue.
Thanks

Pretty sure you will have to take the shuttle, i dont think there is any parking at the terminals anymore... BUT the shuttle is so quick, you wont be on it for more than a few minutes...
idk about the 24 hr parking

I never park long term at the airport. I always use an offsite lot. They are smaller and always monitored. I usually use Avistar (I think they changed names). You have to take a shuttle but its only a few minutes so not a big deal.
The airport website has all the info for the on airport parking.

I agree with PP the off-site lots are the way to go. We just traveled to florida and parked at the former Avistar lot (now The Parking Spot). Really easy to get to, and the shuttle was very easy. Only about 5 minutes and they loaded and unloaded our luggage for us which was really helpful. If you look on their website there are coupons and if you are a AAA member there's one on the AAA site for 25% off.

We've done onsite parking once. We live 5 min from JFK (literally) so we usually get dropped off.
You'll have to take the AirTrain to the terminal. It's no big deal. if you're parked far from the Air Train, they'll bus you to it.
We usually use the Lefferts Blvd lot.

If you're taking JetBlue, the Short term parking is attached right to their terminal, as soon as you enter you are in the sky walk which leads you down to the ticketing and security. It's expensive though, approx $33 per day. With long term parking you do have to take the air train to terminal 5. I work there and do it all the time with a ton of luggage, it's not as bad as you'd think and very convenient.

Taking the air train to the terminal is no different than a lot of airports - Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, and Denver to name a few where you have to take a monorail to get to the terminal anyway

if i leave it in short term it will just be for a day. My parents will leave the car for me on Friday morning and we come in Saturday morning it might just be there for a little over 24 hours so i was eondering what happnes if you go over 24 hours by a few hours.

You are billed 6$ for every 8hrs-so if its over 24hrs but less than 32 hrs you will pay 18+6$ JFK Parking

We fly JetBlue out of JFK quite often and always use offsite parking. We always use SmartPark. Never had a problem and the price is reasonable. The shuttle that brings you to the airport and picks you up is no big deal at all. It's a really quick ride.
