Parking ticket...did you know?
I got a parking ticket on Saturday that says "backed up to meter". I had no idea this is a parking violation...there was no sign in the parking lot. The only signs that were posted said that you don't have to feed the meter on Sat/Sun/Holidays. So...I got a parking ticket for a meter I didn't have to put money in 
I'm in NJ...I have no idea if this is a town rule, or a general rule about parking near a meter (since I don't go to this town often where they have meters).

Ugh, so annoying!  If it isn't too much out of your way, you should try to fight it. At the very minimum, they should reduce the penalty.

Someone I know got a ticket bc they backed into the spot instead of pulling in head in. He caught a 5 am train and didn't see the sign. $105 is what the ticket cost.

This is something I don't get. What does it matter if you back into it?  I mean, why is it ticket-worthy?

this is garden city. you can't back into spots in a lot of lots in garden city. my mom received one.

they do this in RVC parking lots as well - i got a ticket for it and was told it is because when the cops (or village police) patrol the parking lots, they go down the lanes and look for the town parking stickers on the rear bumper. If your car is backed in, they can't see the back of your car (without getting out of their car)
Also, they walk down the line of cars that are head to head and check for expired registrations.
If your car is parked the 'wrong' way, they can't check it as easily
their town.. their rules!
