NRAD Labs for HSG
Has anyone gone to the lab in Lake Success for their HSG? I may be going next week, but the woman on the phone was very nasty and just wanted to know what your experience with them was. My insurance doesn;t cover the HSG to begin with so do you think I can go to any lab if its cheaper or does it have to be the one my RE recomended?

I had my HSG done at NRAD and had a very positive experience. I've been to a couple of their centers for different reasons and never had a bad experience. The operator on the phone is just a universal operator for all the centers. I would t worry about her. You won't have anymore contact with her.

I had my HSG at thst location years ago (2007) but it was a very positive experience. The wait was a little long but everyone was nice and they told me the results right then and there. Hopefully you just got her on a bad day!

I went there and it was fine...no complaints other than my gyn not sending the paperwork so they had to get that.

I was just there last week and had a positive experience. They called me in about 20 minutes after my appointment time, but the procedure itself went quick. The doctor that did it and the nurse were great.

p.s. they give you pads for when you are done...use them!

I used that location for my HSG and I had a good experience. Actually the nurse and dr who performed the test were really nice....I kinda had a mini break down, I was still going thru the process of coming to terms that I had to go to a RE.
If you're not comfortable with that location there are many other NRAD locations

I went to that location last friday and although they were unable to to hsg (cervix was too tight) everyone was very nice, helpful and thorough.

Thank you ladies. I feel a little better now. But that leads me to another question. I do hear some people say that if your cervix is too tight it is very painful or cannot be done at all. My OBGYN knows she has to do a pap smear very slow and gentle with me and I do have a tendency to tighten up when I am stressed. I am worried if I do go for the hsg next month that I will be really tight or they will be too rough and not be able to do it.

FYI the people making the appointments are at at differnt location and you will never see her when you get your exam done.....They have great DR's working there so everything will be fine....They just arent a great company to work for.........
