want to get house clean...need one time service...but question?

i just cannnnot get on my hands and knees anymore to do deep cleaning. i would love to get house really scrubbed down before baby gets here.
i looked at merry maids and it could be hundreds of dollars for first time cleaning...is this about right? never had a maid before so i dont know?

i live in freeport....so maybe someone here can reccommend someone or someplace that is a bit more affordable that 300 bucks?
i have 2bd2ba co op so i have no idea what is truly reasonable.

I would ask around for private cleaners. Even for the first time what you were quoted is a lot, IMO. I think around $125 is normal and then $75ish afterwards. I'm not in nassau or I would try to help you.

We used Maid Brigade (a vendor on here) when we first moved to our house. They were just ok, but I don't think they were expensive.

I used a service run ny this woman Maggie to clean one time before we moved into our house. They came with a crew of 3 or 4 people. I was satisfied with the job they did. They were recommended by a friend who uses them on a weekly basis. This is her number (516) 322-9316
