Extreme Calf Pain
Has anyone else experienced extreme pain and tightness in both of their calves? I can't seem to get rid of it. I also had sharp pain in my right butt. Any ideas why this might be and how I can ease it? I can hardly flex my feet now and it hurts whether I am in bed in or walking.

I get the calf pain occasionally. It usually happens when I havent had enough water.
Also eat a banana - it could be due to lack of potassium.

Thanks for the advice. I am just scared because everything I read said if it is persistent it could be blood clots and it has been persistent (maybe three full days now) but I am leaving in 1.5 days for vacation for a week and I have ZERO time to fit in a visit to the doctor. But now I am scared to go on vacation but at the same time still cannot get to the doctor without ditching vacation. ARGH.

I would try and get it checked out before you go. Especially since it could be a blood clot. Are you going on a plane for your vacation? Bc that is dangerous with a blood clot. I have bad circulation in 1 leg due to an accident and the doc told me if I had calf tightness and pain that lasted more thatn 48 hours that I needed to go to the ER immediately

With my first pregnancy I had calf pain associated with charlie horses CONSTANTLY. I would wake up screaming in the middle of the night because the pain was so bad and it would freak DH out.
This pregnancy I have been lucky not to have it at all.
Drink a LOT of water, I think it helps with the muscle cramps a lot.

I had the worst calf pain when I was pregnant with ds. I started taking magnesium (as per my doctor) to help. As pp said, drink a ton of water. I have the pain this time around too, but not nearly as bad as last time.

i heard it is clotting if you start to swell and get red, otherwise it might just be charlie horses. i used to get those all the time, they hurt like hell! feel better!

If you have swelling reddness and the leg is hot then I would go right to the ER.
I had blood clots and it is usually just in one leg. But I had pain that was worse when I was on my feet and would be less when sitting or lying. It was only one leg and was hot and red and swollen.
