my new third trimester fear
is that the baby gets a knot or the umbilical cord strangles him.
i hate my way my brain thinks

The umbilical cord is THICK. And really stiff. Think semi-rubbery celery 
Even if it did get in a knot, it wouldn't matter - it's so thick that it can't get tight enough to cut off blood flow.

Even if it did get in a knot, it wouldn't matter - it's so thick that it can't get tight enough to cut off blood flow.
then why did the DAMMMNN baby book in the docs waiting room show an illustration of this knot as well as a two page chapter on it!!!!!!??? blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah ty though
