Creme Brulee & Mussels- are they safe?

Is it safe to eat creme brulee while pregnant?
What about mussels?

DH is taking me out on Valentines Day and I was leaning towards the mussels and creme brulee. It seems every dish has something I can't have... gorgonzola cheese or raw egg or wine or alcohol sauces... ARGH!!!

I would not eat the mussels if they are raw. If they are cooked, you are probably fine.

I've never made creme brulee but I thought it was baked/cooked, maybe you can ask the server to check with the chef to make sure it's cooked (I think eggs are in it) in which you are fine.

You can actually eat gorgonzola if it's pasteurized - domestic cheeses need to be pasteurized so just be careful if it's imported. I eat Feta all the time, I'd die without it lol

If a dish is cooked in wine that's fine too. Cooking alcohol reduces it so the alcohol is actually cooked out of it.

Creme brulee should be fine... the eggs in that aren't raw - the custard is cooked in a water bath.

As for mussels, I felt comfortable eating shellfish in both of my pregnancies - so for me, I'd say that's fine. But it's all about your comfort level and what your doctor recommends.

I had cremebrulee a few times already and never thought twice about it. Baby is still doing fine. Mussels I have no idea bc I don't eat them!
