My ovaries
are enlarged, in one week they went down from ninety something to seventy something for the left one and the right was was at sixty something, not sure if it was mm or cm.
Also one is in front of the other. All I know if when I saw them on the u/s they looked huge!
What can I do to help them shrink back down to size? I am on PIO injections every other day now, so not sure if this is contributing.
The doctor didn't seem too concerned but my pants are way too tight and I feel uncomfortable. Sometimes if I am laying down and twist the wrong way I get pinching pains or O type pains.
Thanks!

Re: My ovaries
yup it happened to me and it stinks. there was nothing i could do to get them back to size, they had to shrink on their own. unfortunately with a pregnancy, it takes longer for them to shrink. just take it really easy!

Re: My ovaries
Sorry to say there isnt much you can do to help them shrink. At my 20 and 24 week sono they were still very much enlarged. I was very careful not to do any heavy lifting or extreme exercise for fear of them twisting. Feel better!

Re: My ovaries
Could something bad happen if I don't take it easy?
I have been doing light cardio, it doesn't hurt when I do it, but should I stop?

Re: My ovaries
I was told not to for awhile. I was in quite a bit of pain for nearly the whole first tri. My doctor was concerned about an ovarian torsion (twisting), which is supposed to be extremely painful. I would ask your doc. My ovaries were extremely enlarged and i had a moderate case of ohss. I went straight from a bloated belly to a pregnant belly. The bloat never went down unfortunately.

Re: My ovaries
Control your diet to eat bland foods, no salt, etc to avoid more bloating. Drink Smart water for the electrolytes. I would avoid heavy exercise, strenuous activity, heavy lifting. Your Dr. should be checking for ovary torsion even if you didn't hyperstim. Stay hydrated! HTH!

Thank you for the advice! I will check with the Doctor about ovary torsion. Its not too bad to deal with, just makes me nervous bc I could see just how huge they were compared to the size of my uterus. And I don't like the pain I sometimes get.
