I believe you can find out by 16 weeks or so but most people don't find out until their 20 week sono (unless they have a 16 week sono for some reason)

After 14 weeks at the earliest. Before then, the genitalia looks the same because it hasn't formed to be girl or boy parts.
But if you have a CVS, you can find out as early as 11 weeks. By sonogram only you have to wait til after 14 weeks.
20 weeks is the seemingly standard "trustworthy" point to find out the accurate sex.

I had a 16 week sono with both of my dc. I found out both times what the gender was and it was later cofirmed at future sono appts.

My sono tech took a guess at 12 weeks (we took it with a grain of salt of course) but her guess was right on and confirmed at our 20 week scan.

We knew at 12 weeks from the CVS testing. At my 16 week early anatomy scan, it was clearly seen. Most women have to wait until 20 weeks though.

I had a 16 week anatomy scan and found out then we're having a  . I go back next week for the 20 week anatomy scan and we'll confirm. I really hope she didn't grow a penis

No. I had one due to a number of "markers" I had that were questionable from my NT scan.

LOL I said the same thing! I was told at my 20 week anatomy scan and at my 25 week sono I asked them to check again! Hey, you never know!

In my doctor's practice it is standard, but it is not the norm everywhere from what I've heard...

I found out at 17 weeks - but my dr had been calling baby "he" when referring to it a few weeks after, so I assume he had suspicisions before hand...

I found out DS at 16 weeks. I tried to get the sono to make a guess at 12 weeks and she wouldn't do it. Although I kept saying it was a girl and she did hint and say boys usually are straight up and I see and she pointed her finger up lol.

I found out at 16 weeks and confirmed again at 20 weeks. Agreeing with the PP that it's easier to tell early when it's a boy
