Ultrascreen- full bladder?

I scheduled my ultrascreen for 2 weeks from today but I was just wondering, do you need to show up with a full bladder? The woman who scheduled the appt didn't say anything but I've read otherwise so I just wanted to check..

Re: Ultrascreen- full bladder?

I wasn't told to have a full bladder. However, today, for my level 2, I wanted to use the bathroom before, and they asked me to wait until after so that there was some water in my bladder.

Re: Ultrascreen- full bladder?

Ive always been given the impression that you should have an empty bladder. Because more than once when they did a sonogram, they noticed my bladder would get full and they asked me to go to the bathroom. And more than once I believe they have asked me if I went to the bathroom first because they want an empty bladder.

For my 20 week scan I was told to have a full bladder. After the tech got the images she needed, I was able to empty my bladder for the rest of the scan.

Oh and honestly, I would just call up the place where you're having it done and ask them. Or go with a full bladder and if they say you don't need to, just go to the bathroom. That's the safest bet if you don't want to call or can't get in touch with them.
