How long do you go without eating?

Not because you have MS and dont want to eat but, lets say you have a busy job or something and dont have time to eat. Whats the longest you go without eating? I can go 6hrs without eating (and Im usually starving). Sometimes my job doesnt allow me to eat a meal even though I do much on fruits and crackers at my desk. This is probably so bad..

Umm if that was my job I'd make sure my boss knows Im taking a break and eating. Plus Id probably be eating more at my desk. Sorry but, in my eyes your pregnant and you have to worry about you and the baby and your boss needs to understand that. Also if you arent getting full breaks that agaisnt the law.

I have a crazy job and don't always have time to eat. We have a Trader Joe's around the corner so I run there on Mondays and stock up on snacks. Dried apricots, bananas, a few yogurts, etc....just have something to snack on throughout the day. If I didn't do that, I wouldn't eat for 6-7 hours at a time.

I teach, so I try to eat something during my planning/hall duty/tutoring periods. Typically it's something small (yogurt, toast with peanut butter, cheese stick with whatever veggie I can stomach) every 45-90 minutes. I get one period to eat and that's around 11:30 - approx 6 hours after I have my full breakfast at home. Once home I'm digging into some pretzels or some other carb until I get dinner on the table.

If I don't eat, I'm sick and completely useless. Not really an option for me with a toddler.


I totally agree with pp, you need to tell your boss that you have to have a break to eat. And if you work through your lunch, make sure you're eating a full meal. You don't want your sugar levels to drop so drastically that you pass out or worse.

six HOURS!?!? Lord!!!! i might be able to go two without eating! instant starvation is my one and only pg symptom. wow i give you props! lol

I teach 2nd grade so I try to bring a lot of snacks with me...yogurt, bananas, grapes, 100 calorie packs. I explain to my students that the baby eats what I eat so I have to eat when I get hungry. They're pretty cute because every time they see me eating something they say that the baby is hungry.
Now trying to get a bathroom break....that's my biggest issue!!!

I dunno... I eat/snack on something whenever Im hungry.... And you should too!! The baby needs it

I try to at least snack on something every 2-3 hours.

Well, I do snack. I have banannas, grapes, yogurt, crackers, cheese sticks, bananna mini muffins you get the idea lol I just go that long without actually have a meal KWIM? I do get hungry and thats why I snack but is it bad to go that long without having an actual meal?

2 hours- maybe 3

but im carrying twins.

i eat at the slightest hint of nausea

by eating i mean 3 meals a day plus snacks like yogurt, fruit, hummus, gold fish, wheat thins with peanut butter or sometimes the occasional piece of halloween candy.

I can go about 2 hours.

But I consider an apple or a banana a small meal so that counts.

There certain times with my job when I HAVE to go 3 - 4 hrs without eating but I make sure to eat plenty and healthily (lots of protein to sustain me longer) beforehand.

I shop at the beginning of the week at work and stock my fridge with fruits and low fat cheese snacks. I keep fiber bars in my desk. No reason to go 6 hrs without eating. If you can break for the bathroom, which I'm sure you do (pregnancy doesn't give you much of a choice ), you can break to grab a little something to eat. Just plan ahead

You are not alone! I am right there with you! I just dont feel hungry. I eat when I get hungry which isnt often. Sometimes I have to force myself to eat breakfast because I never did and I dont like eating in the morning. Im not hungry. I will usually eat bfast at 10 when I get to work, lunch around 3 then dinner around 7:30-8:00 when I get home. I know the baby is taking what she needs from me anyway right? Whether I eat or not? I'm a bad mom already. I know. =(

i can't last more than 3 hours without eating... i tried to have an early dinner last night at 5:30pm and couldn't sleep at 10pm. had to have a protein shake at around 1am because i was just too hungry and feeling nauseous.

Usually have to go 4-6 hours w/out eating due to work. I'll shove a candybar/hershey kiss etc in my mouth if i need something but you really can't eat while seeing appointments or doing surgery all day.

I am at the point where I have to eat something every 2-3 hours. I hope this slows down in the second tri.

I can't go more than 2-3 hours because I'm STARVING by that point LOL

If you aren't feeling hunger you are fine!

I think the OP feels she doesn't have time, not that she's not hungry.

I snack all day long. There are many days that I don't have a real lunch or a real dinner. If you can make your snacks good ones then I don't really think 3 "meals" as day is necessary!
