any cold remedies we can take?

I feel a cold coming on and was wondering if there is anything we can take to help move it along or prevent it from becoming full blown. In the past I've taken Zicam Meltaways, airborn, or extra vitiamin c. Does anyone know if we can take any of these or are these all no-nos.

If we can't what have you been doing??

i specifically asked my doc about airborne and he said it was fine... he also mentioned tylenol cold as being okay

ETA: When I mentioned the risk of overdosing on vitamins, he said that you will pee out whatever excess your body doesnt need so no harm
