People are so rude...
I already have a complex over how much I am showing and the few pounds that I have gained with this pregnancy, since I was in full blown weight-loss mode for over a year and a half before getting pregnant. This has been an adjustment for me and it is weird, mentally, to wrap your mind around your body growing after having it shrink for so long....
So one of my good friends, someone I met through Weight Watchers and we've supported eachother through the weight loss, who has also lost a good deal of weight sends me a text message out of the blue today.
"Are you sure you aren't further along? You look much more pregnant then you say you are!"
Okay, SERIOUSLY!!!
I was so offended! I have a complex already! I don't need someone else pointing it out!
And she is a Mother! She should know better!
Grr, people are just RUDE! I am sure I am just hormonal and overreacting, but she should know better!

Meliss, I wouldn't take it to seriously, I started showing MUCH faster with this baby (#3) I looked 5 mths at 3 mths lol all belly, one of my friends who I know didn't mean it in the way she said it goes, wow r u sure your not preggo with twins?? I just laughed it off! Don't worry about the weight gain, once your baby is here you will loose the weight, enjoy your pregnancy!

I agree. Every time I gain another pound or two pounds, I just remember that right after birth you lose like 15-20. It comes off just as much as it goes on. With #2 I was fortunate to look smaller which is totally strange.

People never cease to amaze me. Even my own mother keeps trying to tell me I am further along.
I've had three people in the last week tell me "wow, you look like you're going to pop!" or "Wow, another month, I'd have thought you were ready to go now!"
People just don't think before they say things.

I was talking to my sister last night. I was so upset, I had to tell her about it.
She told me that when she was PG with her DD, she went to see her primary care doc for a cold, and the doc told her you have to be having twins! And she told her that she has seen cases where there were 2 sacs at the first sono, but it only looked like one because one was behind eachother. She had my sister convinced that it was medically possible for her to be having twins even though they only saw one sac and one heartbeat on her initial sono!
I just feel like people need to keep certain things to themselves!

people are REALLY stupid and rude. I got my first comment the other day when a coworker told me that I got "wider" and I'll carry "wide". I'm only 11 weeks and super self conscious, THANKS

I got wider too. I had finally started seeing my waist line again after losing some weight, and there it went! It was the first thing to go at like 7-8 weeks!
I am seriously tempted to tell her that she offended me. Say listen, we're friends so I feel like I can tell you this, I'm sensitive about the whole issue and it really bothered me last night and made me even MORE self concious!
But then again I need to remind myself that I am hormonal so I need to just get over it!

I don't think you need to "get over it." people need to realize that pregnant women are sensitive and uncomfortable and they should keep their opinions to themselves!
One of the coworkers actually came and apologized to me later in the day. She didn't make the "wider" comment but she said I am going to carry it in my hips among other observations. I guess she picked up that I was annoyed because I walked abruptly away after saying "can we not discuss my body changing?"
After she apologized, I told her flat out that I'm self conscious and I don't need those comments and i find them kind of rude. She said it'd never happen again 
I wouldn't bring up the past comment but DEFINITELY nip it in the bud if she makes a remark like that again.

lol than I guess I'm paying for DH's karma! SIL and BIL were TTC but she was also on some kind of medicine that makes you gain a ton of weight for her stomach problems. Well, DH said to her "am I going to be an uncle again?!" totally innocently and NOOOO she wasn't pregnant then.
I try to drill into his head...NEVER ASK A WOMAN THAT and he learned his lesson.

wow.. i gotten some nice comments and then I got the same one last week.. and i just told her.. "wow what an appropriate thing to say, to a pregnant lady, how soon we forget what we all really looked like".. i think she got the point..

I feel your pain
Yesterday I got a variety of comments. I was feeling really good after some coworkers said I don't even look pregnant from behind and then one woman said that I have "Hillary Cankles" and when I said that I have 5 weeks left she said "Now way! You are SO big you are never going to last 5 weeks."

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. Was losing weight, and now the weight gain is kind of annoying. But remember, that people just don't think sometimes. Try not to let it get to you.
