When do babies require water? And which water - Poland Spring water or Gerber Water?

They don't require water. Its best to just give them formula or breastmilk. Water can fill them up and they will skip feedings.

Re: Water for newborns...
I give Ryan water when he has hiccups. I use POland Spring water. Also, sometimes I give it to him in between feedings (an ounce or 2) just to keep him hydrated because sometimes I notice that when he pees, it has a strong smell to it and its very potent. My ped didnt really tell me yes or no to water, but my mother used to give it to me and no problems at all.

Re: Water for newborns...
I was told she does not need water so only give it for a reason. When she had a cold we were told we could give it to break up the congestion.
We also gave her some water today, we were out in the heat.

Re: Water for newborns...
I would not use water unless it was needed for a medical reason.
