TMI! But I'm having a real issue here and need some advice
Warning - there's TMI here!!!
I keep having recurring bouts of diahreah. I'm 10w 4d and it has been happening on and off the entire pregnancy but it seems to be getting a bit worse.
It comes and goes and I can't pinpoint the reason. Last week, it started Thursday night. I saw my OB on Friday and he asked how I felt and told him about my issue. He said that it was probably due to my progesterone level being so high. I asked if I can decrease or stop the progesterone inserts. He said that being that he's not the one prescribing them, he can't take me off or decrease them and that I should call my RE as he's the prescribing MD. After I left the OB, it was a busy day so I didn't call the RE and didn't feel too bad until Friday night when it kicked up again. Saturday morning I call the RE and leave a message for someone to call back. No one did. I called again and the office was closed so I called the on call RN # and told her what was going on and what my OB said about the progesterone. She said that she's never heard of that but will call the on call MD to find out what to do. She calls back to say that the on call MD told her that he never heard of progesterone causing that and asked if my lips were cracked (they were). She said that I was probably getting dehydrated and to call my regular medical MD for advice as to what to do as it was a medical issue but to not be surprised if they send me to the ER for fluids. I'm as stubborn as a mule and didn't call the medical MD and instead just sat at home and drank a TON of water and ate a bunch of bananas. By Sunday I felt a lot better and back to normal.
Fast forward to this morning about 3:45am when I wake up to go pee and my stomach starts to rumble. Here we go - another bout with diahreah. I never had this before being preganant so I can only assume its something to do with the pregancy but I feel like everyone keeps pushing the responsibility off to the other - OB says to call RE - RE says to call medical MD. Even if I call the medical MD, once I explain what's been going on I feel like they are going to push me to the OB or RE again.
I'm sorry this is so long. I'm just getting frustrated and hoping someone has some advice or has been thru this before with some explanation as to why this is happening.

It happens. Your baby is fine. You are fine. You are probably a bit more anxious / on edge now than usual, right? That causes me to have upset stomachs. I also get them often during "my time of the month" so it can definitely be hormone-related. Just take care of yourself and drink plenty of fluids so you're not dehydrated, and try to watch your diet so you don't aggravate the condition - stay away from junk food, etc. and maybe try to eat more "binding" food like bananas and rice.

This is for sure!!! My NT Scan is scheduled for next week and the last time I had one done I ended up getting horrible news and m/c. That's sitting in the back of my mind until this test is over. Thanks for the encourgement and advice. Makes me feel better to know I'm not alone here!

I had it bad around that time too. So much that I was bringing changes of clothes with me because I had accidents
It went away after a few weeks and not I have the opposite issues.
I would ask your RE is you can stop the Progesterone....and then see if that helps. You dont have to tell him why you want to stop I would just say Hey when do I get to stop this.
Then ask your regular OB what you can take if stopping the proges. doesnt help.

It's common in early pregnancy. I had it both times through the frat trimester to a point where I only left the house when I had to. My re said it was normal and to stay hydrated. Call your ob and see if they will allow you to take anything for it. Feel better!

I had it also. I was getting MS out of both ends I told DH. I believe I even read it in my what to expect book. I was having explosive diarrhea or anything but it was anything but solid.
