BTDT - anyone ever been prescribed zofran or been hyperemetic?

in pill or pump form? my ms has been so severe that my ob prescribed zofran for me. if it doesn't get better, i might have to get the pump i'm turning out to be slightly hyperemetic.... any ladies here have experience with this and willing to share your experience? TIA

edit: also what was your dosage if you were on zofran?

Im sorry but I dont have experience with zofran. but a lot of the girls on this site have taken it and said its a God send.

I take zofran as needed and it has helped so much.

Zofran is the only thing that helped me keep ANY food down for the first trimester.

I was still nauseous, but at least got some nutrition.

I have had severe morning sickness with both my pregnancies, it's about the worst thing I have ever been through.....key to getting the benefit of zofran, take it every 8 hours....don't skip dose etc. With my first i ended up in hospital I was so sick....I learned second time around to really watch what triggers it....water was a killer for me so I tried to find different drink....carbs are easier to digest and might be easier for you to eat.... I threw up 10 times a day...I'm 16 weeks and still sick but getting better. My first lasted until 23 weeks or so.....hang in there

Zofran was the only thing that helped me to keep anything down. The key for me was to find the minimum does you need and take it every 8 hours b/c it does have some side effects. If I skipped a dose, it was a day before I was feeling better again though I still felt nauseaous while on it. I took it from week 8-16.

I was on zofran with both pregnancies. The first time around it worked great, the second time around helped out a lot but not fully and made me constipated BUT it was a lifesaver in a lot of ways. . .allowed me to eat & keep things down! (most of the time)

I have no experience, but FM maria (blissful), she suffered from hyperemesis.

I had the hypermesis (sp?) and it was horrible - I was sick up to about 15 times a day.
I was in the hospital getting IVs and then they sent me home and set me up with an IV at home and a pump.
Once I was hydrated and started to feel a little better I got off both and religiously took Zofran - it was the only way I could function.
At about the 28w mark I think I was able to cut the zofran down to one a day
If you need it - take it - you will feel so much better

my MS is getting pretty bad I'm miserable still uneasy on it but 80% better on it, I can almost function on it can't imagine coping without it!!!

I was diagnosed with hyperemisis at 13 weeks when I ended up in the hospital severely dehydrated. I had lost 10% of my bodyweight and could keep nothing down. I started throwing up blood which they said were probably tears in my esophogus from throwing up so much. I was on a home IV for 2 weeks and the zofran pump from weeks 13-18. It made me feel so much better!!!! I had a great experience with the nursing company as well, you work with and talk to a nurse everyday who helps you to figure out what kinds of food you can handle best and when to start adding in more regular food to your diet.

I'm not sure what my dosage was but I can try to find it somewhere.

Also, I had been on the pill form of zofran from weeks 9-13 but it didn't help me.
