coffee?

have you stopped drinking coffee now that you are pregnant?
With my first I stopped drinking it the day I found out I was pregnant, with this one I haven't, yet, I have one cup and I make it very, very light. I just don't think I can function with no coffee at all now that I already have a little one, I need that one cup in the morning, even if it is very light and doesn't really do much Chat Icon
edited for spelling I just realized I wrote "faction" instead of function Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon OMG I have no idea what happened there , I need to get more rest and I need more coffee Chat Icon

Re: coffee?

i drink tea (60 mg caffeine) but i havent stopped drinking 1 cup a day.

i think you can have up to 200 mg of caffeine per day and coffee has 100 mg per cup (im too lazy to google it but double check ifthat's right)

Re: coffee?

Oh God no! I NEED the coffee to function.
Sometimes I go without it until maybe 3, when I'm about to fall asleep at work. I feel like I enjoy that cup more than my morning one, so most days I just have one only in afternoon.

PP was right. 200mg a day is fine although I thought that was in one cup, but I could be completely wrong.

Re: coffee?

I drank a cup of coffee every day thru my first 2, and once my aversion goes away, I will for this one too.

Re: coffee?

When I was pregnant with #1, my OB said that 300mg/day was the max but to avoid it in the first trimester since it's linked to miscarriages.

Now, at 8 weeks pregnant with #2, my RE has told me that there is a high correlation and to avoid it for as long as possible, at least through the first tri.

Re: coffee?

I I started cutting back while we were tic by mixing decaf and regular. For me personally, I'm glad I did because I was n addict. Now occasionally I will have a cup of decaf or decaf tea.

My doctor said it was fine.

If you are worried about it,maybe mix erg and decaf until you don't need it anymore. It took me a few weeks but I don't need it, I just like it so I have the decaf for the taste.
