Schedule of ultrasounds?
Is there a time frame that Dr's follow when it comes to ultrasounds? I know the nurse told me that I have to be seen monthly but an ultrasound will not be done at each visit but I didnt ask how often they are done. Just curious thats all

Re: Schedule of ultrasounds?
I think each dr. will differ a little but my practice does 6, 12 (NT), 20 (level 2) & 30 (growth).

Thanks. that makes a lot of sense. I remember she told me one is done at 20 weeks because thats when they can tell us the sex of the baby if we want to know but I dont remember her telling me about the others. Thanks again

Re: Schedule of ultrasounds?
For me it was first appt, 12w, 20w, 32w. I had some in between bc they were monitoring my cervix but the "traditional" schedule @ my ob is above.
My doctor told me that if he needs to he might do one towards the end--if I look very big or go past due date or something.

Re: Schedule of ultrasounds?
I really think it depends on your practive and dr. Personally, I have had a sono at every single appt. (28 weeks now) I have a book of sono pics. But I do not believe this is the norm.....but I was seeing an RE in the beginning then had some issues with spotting etc. and my dr. is awesome and does them for me! I would call your dr. and ask what their schedule is.

Re: Schedule of ultrasounds?
I had a few in the beginning bc of previous m/c and my anxiety..5,7, 10, 12 (NT scan) and 20 weeks. My doc office told me I wont be getting any more sonos....needless to say Im not very happy about that! I thought most offices do one at like 32 weeks?!

Re: Schedule of ultrasounds?
each office is different when getting your first. with this pregnancy because I was under the care of and RE which I kept getting so many starting at 4wks 8day.
My last sono was at 12 wks, next will be 20 wks, can't remember after that. I did see a HR doctor because of her single vessel cord in her umbicial cord and had alot more sono's.
This one not sure how it will be.

Re: Schedule of ultrasounds?
I had one at every visit so far, but that was because I had a subchorionic bleed and they had to monitor it.

Re: Schedule of ultrasounds?
I had one at 6 (RE) 8.5, 10, 17 (amnio) and I will have a 20 next week. I didnt have the 12 (NT scan) cause I opted out of the test.
It also depends on your insurance. My insurance will only pay for certain ones unless they are pre-approved.

Pretty much the same except the first sono was around 8 weeks. They said we probably wouldn't see anything before that anyway.
I know I get another one in 2 weeks (which will be 32weeks). They are checking the size now since the baby measured 3 weeks ahead.
