Skirts and tights

Hi ladies1

I am starting a new teaching job this year in a middle school and that means new clothing! I am a music teacher so most of my days in the elementary school were spent sitting "criss cross applesauce" on the floor with the kids. Th at meant, no skirts, no heels really! I started looking for dress pants to pair with my heeled boots but I am having a ton of trouble finding pants that fit as I am very petite. I am contemplating changing gears and trying some skirts and tights! My hesitance is that I HATE when skirts stick to tights or stockings! Any ideas where I can get some nice (reasonably priced) skirts with the built in liner to avoid static??

Also you ladies that dress up daily, do you HATE wearing stockings etc to work ? im not sure how often I will really want to do this lol

Re: Skirts and tights

I have found some great lined skirts at the Banana Republic and Ann Taylor/LOFT outlets. I wear more skirts to work in the cooler weather than in the warmer weather b/c I hate my legs and prefer to wear tights.

Re: Skirts and tights

Since I work in a Yeshiva school I wear skirts every day. It is very difficult for me to find skirts that fit. I found one at Kohl's (the smallest size they had was a 4 in most skirts, I finally found one in a 2!). I found another one at Target (I LOVE this one- I think its Mossimo brand?). I also found two at Marshalls.

The best thing to do is look for the stretchy "jersey" skirts (I think that is what they are called). I wear a size 2 and found it very difficult to find any skirts that weren't too big. Even some of the ones I have now are a little big.
The jersey skirts might seem casual but can be dressed up very easily and are very comfortable!

Also, during the winter I wear leggings under my skirts. I don't really have any other alternative though since I can't wear pants!

Almost all I wear come fall is skirts with tights and boots.

I just got a few lined skirts at Target (I can't remember if they are Mossimo brand or Merona).

I'll wear a half slip if I have to with unlined skirts or sweater dresses.

I honestly can't wait for boot weather!!!!

Ann Taylor and Loft.

I wear skirts/dresses all winter with tights. I would never wear stockings and I think tights have a totally different feel.

Re: Skirts and tights

I have had good luck with Gap skirts. Also LOFT and J Crew have nice lined skirts.

J Crew Outlet gives 15% teacher discount on top of in-store promotions, too!
