BTDT Moms...
what did you wear in the hospital? I dont want to just have on a hospital gown. The girls will be in my armpits if I do that and with visitors coming, I dont want to look like that. Do you have to wear a gown? Is there something that you can suggest?

You wear a gown through labor and delivery.
The next morning after I delivered, and they removed my catheter and told me I needed to get up and use the bathroom myself was when I changed.
I highly suggest soft waisted yoga pants for the bottoms, soft cotton briefs for underwear. If you plan on BFing, a few nursing tanks are good to use. That's pretty much what I wore the 5 days I was in the hospital.

Re: BTDT Moms...
You really only wear the gown in L&D. Once you are moved to the post partum unit you can shower and wear whatever you want. I wore lounge type clothes most of the day.

Re: BTDT Moms...
I had a c-section, so I was in the hospital gown until they got me out of bed (and took out catheter) the next morning...I took a shower and put on the pajamas I'd brought with me. They were about a size bigger than normal, a very stretchy material and elastic waistband....Super Comfy, and I looked a little more "put together" when people stopped by.

Re: BTDT Moms...
I didn't wear a gown at all. Just my own sweats and tank top for labor/delivery. After that, I wore PJs/yoga pants and nursing tank. Plan to do the same with this one.

Re: BTDT Moms...
Just remember that if you have a vaginal birth you will probably be in the hospital for 24 hrs.
C-section about 4 days or more depending on insurance.
My friend packed 3 cute pairs of pjs/lounge wear for her hospital stay a few books, etc and ended up staying in for 24 hours. She said she definitely overpacked.
I had a C-section and wore capri length yoga pants and nursing tanks. I had a short sleeve hoodie for when people came by and I wanted a little something more than a tank.

I wore a hospital gown through labor and delivery and I brought two pairs of PJ's which were really comfy pants and matching top. One was a nursing PJ set from Motherhood (grey) and the other was black capri pants and black t-shirt. I also had slippers to wear and flip flops as well. I suggest you wear dark colors just in case because there is a lot of blood!

Re: BTDT Moms...
you can wear whatever you want-- I had sports bras (I did wear one during delivery, you can't wear regular bra), and after-- just have comfy things that you can easily nurse in if that's what you are planning. But don't bring anything special because sometimes the hospital is, eh.

Re: BTDT Moms...
Wear what is comfy for you! I had a v-birth so I was able to wear yoga pants, sweats and tanks. I also suggest bringing some hydrogen proxide in case you notice blood on anything you can take it right off, put it in the sink and soak it in that. Stains will be gone! This is a trick for any blood stains!! I honestly just wore old comfy clothing. I wish I had packed more because my daughter was in the NICU and I had huge hormone changes so I was in the shower a lot from sweating!

Re: BTDT Moms...
I had a c-section and had brought along some maternity pajama and yoga pants, but they were so uncomfortable along the incision that I ended up in a normal top with a robe over it and no bottoms except underwear. In hindsight I should have brought the few cotton maternity dresses I had. Would have been much more comfortable that way...
