haven't gone yet, but will be going with DH...at least the 1st main big trip for all the big stuff...
once he's wiped out, if he doesn't want to go back for all of the little incidentals, I'm sure my mom will come with me

My DH only came to look at the carrier and stroller. I did everything else with my sister along with the assitance of my two nieces  .

I went a few times before actually scanning.Once or twice I went with my DH..once with my sister...my mom..alone
The night I scanned things, I went with my mom.

I went with my Mom (had 4 kids, but raised us 30 years ago) and my sister (no kids, but worked at BRU at the time, so knew all the "in" things to buy). It was a good combo!
ETA: Went back with DH afterwards to pick anything that needed colors, etc.

i learned after i took my husband to register for our wedding and he took the scanner i picked things like plastic cups, margarita salt, and gum not to bring him ever again.
he really doesn't care what i pick out for the baby so it was an easy decision to leave him home and he was beyond thankful.
I went with my mom once and a friend who recently had a child.

DH, my mom and MIL. We thought it would be a nice day out with them. And my mom was looking to replace some of the stuff at her house from when my nephew used it and was giving MIL pointers on what she liked and what she didn't for the IL's house.

i will be going with DH. he gets insulted if i leave him out of things. but, i plan to have a list ready of things we need and recommended brands so that it will be a little quicker. i have already gotten a ton of good advice from friends and LIF.

It's been DH and I every time we go there
My mom doesn't live locally, but when she visited recently i brought her around to show her what we registered for so she could feel included in what we were doing, and we added a few little things ourselves.
But for the most part it was DH and i - he wanted to be involved in all of it

DH and I went on 2 separate trips to get it done. I did A LOT of research before. So, I pretty much knew what we were registering for. DH wanted to be a part of it so i let him come along. lol

DH and I made a day of it . For both kids, we went after the Level II big sono (what is that, at 20 weeks?). We went to Buy Buy Baby for the initial registering then I added sporadically online and in the store.
I went with our moms to "register" for our layette and we ALL (my parents and his parents) went to pick out the baby's furniture.
Yeah, we pretty much all do everything together!
