Re: What to do with Old Fashion Oats?
I just used them recently to make a mixed berry rhubarb crisp. DH loved it!
Mixed Berry Rhubarb Crisp
Ingredients: 1 cup white sugar 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 cup sliced strawberries 1 cup sliced raspberries 1 cup sliced blackberries 3 cups diced rhubarb 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup packed light brown sugar 1 stick butter 1 cup rolled oats (not the instant kind)
Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. In a large bowl, mix white sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, all berries, and rhubarb. 3. Place mixture in ungreased 9 x 13 baking dish. 4. In a medium bowl, mix remaining flour, brown sugar, and oats. 5. Cut butter into mixture until crumbly. Then sprinkle on top of fruit mixture. 6. Bake until top has browned (approximately 40-45 minutes).
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Delicious!

Love this recipe! The only changes I think are needed are to make it in a 9"square pan. Then after they are cool I slide the whole thing out on a cutting board to easily slice them.
Oatmeal Caramel Bars
There are similar recipes on there for peanut butter bars or raspberry bars which are both delicious too!

You'd be surprised by how many dishes you can incorporate oats into. I usually use them as a replacement for breadcrumbs in meatballs or meatloaf.
Quaker has a ton of recipes on their site:
