1 hour glucose test
Where did you ladies have this done? I have to go to Quest and I am so annoyed because of course they dont have any later appointments, everything is early so I either have to come into work late or take the day off. How is this test done?

Re: 1 hour glucose test
I have to do this next week
Mine is being done right at the doctor's office. They gave me the drink at the last appointment. When I go next week, she said to fast 2 hours before I drink the drink....then drink it an hour before the appointment. When I get there they will take my blood right away.

Re: 1 hour glucose test
Quest is probably different, I'm assuming you'd stay there the whole hour.. My office had me drink the fluid at home 45 mins before my appt time. Waited at office 15 mins & at the 1 hour mark, they took blood & urine. That was it.

Re: 1 hour glucose test
That is convenient, I wish I could have it done in the office, it would be so much easier to schedule.

Re: 1 hour glucose test
They did it right in my OB's office. I drank the stuff, they did my 28 week appointment, I sat around a little longer and she drew my blood.

Re: 1 hour glucose test
There are quests that open at 5AM, I did that for #2's 3 hour glucose test and still got to work on time!!
I didn't need an appointment for my 1 hour glucose tests at Quest - i just walked in.

Make an appointment online before you go. The wait is very minimal if you do that

Re: 1 hour glucose test
I have mine tomorrow. My OB gave me the drink at my last appt. I have to drink it an hour before the appt and they draw blood when I get there. I failed the 1 hour with DS and had to go to the lab for the 3 hour though. That sucked!!!

Re: 1 hour glucose test
Every dr's office does it differently. Some have you go to the lab.
My Dr gave me the drink at my 24 week appt. to drink for my 28 week appt.
I drank it at home and had to be at the doctor's office before an hour after I drank it; then they gave me the blood test there (exactly one hour after I finished the drink).
Easier than waiting at the lab.
