Re: extensions
Do yourself a favor and try the clip ins. They are awesome, look totally natural if you can match your color well, they dont' wreck your hair, and they are 100 times cheaper.
Jessica Simpson makes some great ones as well as Put on Pieces- hair u wear.

Re: extensions
I agree with clip in, bec the 'real' extensions generally damage your hair & you wind up with thinner hair after unless you keep maintaining it.

Re: extensions
Depending on the kind of extensions you get, they can be damaging, but it really depends on how YOU take care of them. I am certified to do extensions, but I rarely ever do them bc most people dont know how to take care of them. Try the clip ins for sure!

Re: extensions
I had approximately 20 socap extensions a few years ago for color effect and I found them to be a hassle. If I tried to pull my hair into a ponytail the fused pieces would stick out and my hair wouldn't lay right. It looked like a MESS. I also noticed a lot of breakage around the fuse area so I had them taken out after about 3 weeks. (it also took the girl about 2 hours to 'break the seal', and she used what looked like pliers)
I'm not sure if the problem was the salon I got them done at, etc. But I would never do it again.
I agree with everyone else. I would try the clip in first.

Re: extensions
Go to Sally Beauty Supply and get the remy hair clip in extensions. I SWEAR by them.
I can't tell you how many times I've worn them and not a single person has realized that it is not my hair.

Re: extensions
the clip ins are awesome.
i have performed in them, gone out clubbing/dancing all night in them - they withstand nearly everything except for when you're getting action. then it's gotta come out.

Re: extensions
I have had extensions 2 times. They are $$$$$$, but if done correctly, they can last a while.
I had Great Lengths and So Cap. The only special care that I gave them, was a special brush. Otherwise, I just washed, dried and flat ironed as usual.
I had mine done by a women in Manhasset. Check out Patricia's in Queens. They have a website with a ton of pictures.
