Scars more visible during pregnancy?
Anyone else notice this or hear/read anything about it? About a week before I gave birth to our son, our cat accidentally scratched a giant gash in my forehead, seen here:
After it healed up, I really never thought about it again. About a month or so after getting my BFP this time, I was looking in the mirror one day and suddenly noticed the scar on my forehead. I couldn't imagine it had been there this whole time and I never noticed it before. Anyone know if scars pop out more during pregnancy?

I had a minor procedure on my leg and I noticed that my scar from the stitches pops out now and is more noticable! I guess it has something to due with pregnancy, but I always forget to ask my doctor when I go!

So weird! Maybe it has something to do with the increased blood flow or something? Who knows? Glad I'm not the only scarry preggo!

yes definitely. i have a scar across my throat from thyroid surgery a year and a half ago - and it's just as red now as it was right after the surgery!

Now that you mention it, probably has something to do with it, I burned my wrist on the oven grate during this pregnancy, and I'm usually pretty fast at healing scars, but it's still a really deep pink mark and it's not fading away as quickly as it would have otherwise, and it wasn't even that bad a burn.

Re: Scars more visible during pregnancy?
It does make sense. According to one pregnancy book I read, all women have that line along their bellies all the time, but once your pregnancy hormones kick in, for some women it becomes a LOT darker and it's the "Linea Nigra." You just can't see it when you're not pregnant. So it totally makes sense that other marks on your body would get darker too.
The good news, then, is that it will go away after you have the baby!
