LP Questions - B6??
Dh and I have been TTC for 2 cycles, and it seems that my LP is about 9 or 10 days (depending upon which day I ovulated); what's the minimum # of days should it before its considered a defect?
Also, has anyone taking B6 to lengthen the LP with success?
When I got pregnant with DD, I had VERY low progesterone and a short LP, ended up taking clomid and got pregnant immediately, and then was on a progesterone supplement until I was 36 week pregnant...I wonder if I have the same issue...

Re: LP Questions - B6??
I had a LP on the short side at 10 days. I took B complex to help lengthen it and it lengthened to 13 days. However, I stopped taking it b/c it also delayed O for me. Lookin back, I wouldn't have done it without first seekinf the advice of a dr. It cant hurt you as it's only a vitman but if you take doses that are too high-above the RDA- you could end up having an adverse effect on your estrogen levels. In short, it did lengthen my LP.. however, there are some potential adverse reactions. IMO I'd def speak to the Dr first. HTH. GOOD LUCK !

You have to track when you ovulate.... The time between ovulation and when af arrives is your lp

You know I never knew that B6 could cause delayed ovulation. This may be why I'm not seeing any effects from the vitex I take. Thanks so much for posting this!

I agree. Less than 10. Also, I personally believe b6 does help. My leutal phase was never really short but maybe ranging from 10-11 days. I started taking b6 and it went from 12-13.

That could totally be why! Again, talk to the Dr first. I became a self proclaimed Dr and wond up doing more harm than good. That's why I always think very carefuly about taking meds/supplements that havent been prescribed by a dr.

Wow, this is actually really interesting. I didnt know this either. Its funny because the month I got my BFP I wasnt taking any of my supplements only prenatals while previous months I was taking b6, b12, vit D, prenatal, evening primerose along with robitussin. The month of BFP none of these, go figure! I honestly had no need to use b6 for LP since my LP was pretty normal to begin with. I wonder now if this affected me in any way prior to my BFP. I think once AF comes back and we start TTC again I will not be using any supplements. I will just take my prenatal pill.

Re: LP Questions - B6??
I had an LP between 7-9 days generally. Doctor was not concerned about it unless 12 months had passed since TTC. I didn't take B6 but I did start raspberry leaf tea. Don't know if it made any difference because I got PG the first cycle I tried it.

Re: LP Questions - B6??
Definitely chat with your doc about it. I started spotting at 8DPO every cycle. I did progesterone with my last pregancy, but my cycles changed after giving birth. I thought I would try TTC without progesterone for a few months since I didn't realize the length of my LP til I starting tracking O, etc. First month I took the progesterone-- BFP.
I have also been on Folgard, which is B6 and B12 plus Folic Acid. Did nothing to my LP length. I needed the progesterone to get/stay pregnant. I think I may have conceived one other month based on a light line on a Wondfo-- but obv didn't stick.
