powerwashing/sealing deck

i had someone come and give an estimate--our deck is not very large but they want 240 that seems excessive. What did you pay? This is in Nassau- don't have too much time to shop around

Re: powerwashing/sealing deck

My DH just bought a powerwasher this past weekend at home depot. It was $200, but at least we have it to use on whatever whenever we want!

honestly it is an easy job and if you are planning on having the deck for a while - it is worth while to buy a power washer - i did it when i was 5 months pregnant without a problem and we had a pretty large deck

I just buy a gallon of stain/sealer/protectant from HD, and paint it on every year or two when it needs it. Since it's just a deck, and it gets absorbed, it doesn't have to be super neat, like paint. Doesn't take very long, and it's not very expensive.

I would go buy a power washer and do it myself. Plus you'll have a power washer!
