Are you doing a crib mobile?
I used one with DD and it seemed kind of pointless, we never used it, it just was there. Are you doing one?

Yes. If my sister didnt get it for me off my registry I probably wouldnt have gone out and bought one myself though.

We did one, but it hangs from the ceiling above the crib not from the crib itself. It's mostly just for decoration, I don't necessarily think it will grab the babies attention.

Not the ones that match the bedding - to me, those are pointless -
We got a colorful one w/ all sorts of music and moving parts that Sean loved - but he got bored w/ it pretty quickly.
I DO recommend that FP Aquarium thing - He STILL has that @ almost 2 years old - it's just soothing w/ the music and blue light etc.

The Tiny Love mobiles are GREAT! When DS#1 was an infant, they allowed me to do things like make my bed, brush my teeth, and even rest for 15 extra mins in the morning. They are not always the prettiest designs, but the classical music, patterns, and colors totally captivated DS.

Didn't have one with DS, didn't see a need.
Sound machine - a must have! Drowns out so much other noise.

to me, the ones that matched the bedding were pointless. They wind up and last for literally 1 minute.
DC still sleeps with the Tiny Love one. Lasts for 20 minutes! Totally worth it!

My granddaughter has this one and LOVES it. She wakes up in the morning and doesn't cry, just looks at the mobile waiting for it to go on. She will lay there for up to an hour screeching, talking, etc. It's nice too because it stays on for 20 min and has a remote control so you don't have to go into the room to continuously start it again.

For my DC, we have the Fisher Price Precious Planet mobile, which I LOVE! We have used it TONS! It has a little projection thing that he used to stare at till he fell asleep. It projects a slow moving image of little animal babies onto the dome of the mobile. Then, when they are old enough to reach the mobile, you take that part off, and it projects onto the ceiling. DC is over a year old now and still uses it very often!
Oh, and it also has music, nature sounds, and heartbeat.

I registered for one.
SIL said the pretty ones that match the bedding usually don't catch their attention.. but if you get the crazy looking ones they usually love those.. so I registered for a crazier looking one.

We used one with DD also , but it says on there that you have to take it down by 5 months (I guess when they may startpulling up and may be able to reach it) So considering the baby will be in our room for the first 3 months, is it worth it to have in there for just 2 months? Maybe I will just put DDs old one in there , even if its a boy. Who cares if he is looking up at ladybugs? Its only for 2 months
