anyone not doing a convertible crib?
And just doing the old fashioned kind? We went to look this weekend (I know I’m so behind)…and my mom was like why do you want to get the convertible kind? If you have a 2nd baby (God willing) you will want to use the same crib for that one….but if you have the convertible the 1st baby will already be using it. So we figured we’d get the regular kind and then if and when we have a 2nd child we will just transition the first one into a toddler bed.

Re: anyone not doing a convertible crib?
as you know, ours is a second-hand crib from a close friend. it is NOT convertible. we will re-use it if we're blessed enough to have a 2nd child and get a toddler bed for Emma when the time comes.
while the convertible beds are OUTSTANDING and great, i'd think to invest in a second crib would be more pricey than a toddler bed....but what do i know?

We just love the convertable crib we picked out. Love the sleigh look of it. We'll see if we change it to a bed or just use it for the 2nd child. We didn't even buy the extras to make it a bed

Re: anyone not doing a convertible crib?
I didn't want one, but there are very few on the market that don't convert.
My DS' only goes to a toddler bed

ITA - we didn't buy the extra pieces yet either. We may never use it as a bed and just continue using it as a crib. Growing up - my 3 sisters and I went from the crib to regular "big girl" beds - we didn't do toddler beds.

Re: anyone not doing a convertible crib?
I was going to get the convertible crib. We figured we would just change the crib into a bed and would move into the bigger room with that furniture. Then if we are lucky enough to have another child, we would have to buy another convertible crib, and that furniture would stay in the nursery which would eventually become my second child's bedroom, however, the room is too small to fit the convertible crib which open into a full size bed. SO we are just going witht he regular crib, hopefully use it twice and then buy a twin bed! hope that made sense.

Re: anyone not doing a convertible crib?
We're not getting one - mostly because of the size. The crib is going into the spare bedroom and I want to keep a double bed in there for visitors (mostly grandparents! ) and the convertible was just that much wider and longer. Plus we're not spending a lot on it, we just didn't feel like we needed to make the investment since there's a transatlantic move in our future!

we have a convertible for Maddie and never converted it.. honestly, I just liked the style of the crib- had nothing to do w/ whether it converted or not.

Re: anyone not doing a convertible crib?
We didn't do a convertible crib. We don't have room for a full sized bed in that room so we went with a standard crib that can be used as a toddler bed as well.
